It's nearly there
Was planned to go for MoT on Friday but some last minute niggles meant it was better to sort them without rushing and do the MoT Monday.
Here's the build crew on well deserved lunch break. A few additional jobs to finish before I receive delivery on Friday for shakedown runs.

MoT through up a couple of advisories, one of which was low headlight beams. This was caused by the front suspension being low despite being set properly according to the manual. The front torsion bars have been nickel plated but this surely should not affect the steel properties as little or no heat is involved. They tried another set of plated bars and these gave the same problem so they are trying some un-plated ones today. We will see. We want the MoT to be unblemished

Back up and running
My super E-type Series 2 Coupe is now up and running and in my garage, though it is going back to The Hub for some final fettling. I have now done some 400 miles in it and it is running nicely. First we went to Nottingham for my 70th birthday party on a boat on the river Trent. We had a lovely day of sunshine - mostly. Here we are with the car, followed by a few shots as it was emerging from the workshop:

Thank you Graham in illustrating that it CAN be done. Only problem for me is finding out HOW it can be done. It is not intuitive to me from the "Manage Attachments" page or button. I have uploaded 2 more pictures, I see no method for positioning them. Do I have to go find some instructions somewhere? If so, perhaps there could be a pointer in this "Reply to Thread" or start thread screens.

Trial and error is maybe one way to find out. By right clicking on the attachment name in the Additional Options box below the message box I am now using, I find copy shortcut option which I selected and then hit Paste in the message box, and a link is pasted. I will see what happens when I "Submit Reply"
mmmm. Preview post does not get the expected / hoped for, result

Well, Graham, I have uses some initiative and gone to your FAQ's to find:
":- Reading and Posting Messages/Attachments and Images"
This points me to an arrow next to the uploaded image attachment to select to insert the attachment.

Click on the black edit button at the bottom right of your post and then click on the Go Advanced button:
(click on the image to enlarge it)
Click on the paperclip icon to open the attachment dialogue box:

The whole process is (just) easier than an E-Type restoration.

I'm a dummy!!
.. and yes, it surely is
Thanks Graham.
Edit: It's all in the semantics really. If you had said the Attachments DROPDOWN arrow, I (maybe!) would have cottoned on a bit more quickly but your pictures are much appreciated.

An E-type comes home at last
Well, it's been a long process since I purchased my S2 Coupé in February.
Was predicted to be a 4 - 6 month process and things looked good when another E-type was kicked out of the paintshop and mine went in 2 months ahead of schedule. But procrastination (i.e. working on some b***er elses!) saw it coming out 2 weeks behind schedule.
But The Splined Hub chaps did a splendid job of getting the car ready to go for my 70th birthday party at end of July. I had it for a week, then it went back for final fettling to a quality suitable for the car to be displayed on the Splined Hub stand at the Goodwood Revival, last week end.
I borrowed a Range Rover from a friend along with covered trailer and took the Jag to Goodwood on the Thursday and SWMBO and I stayed for the weekend. We saw some amazing old racing cars and super racing on the circuit, only getting wet once when we went to the far side of the circuit and did not catch an empty "bus" until they were coming by full up so we had to walk back.
Had fun then getting out of "Across-the-Road" where anywhere off the alloy roads was a quagmire. Also did not help that once the Jag was back in the trailer it could be seen it had a flat and the spare was bald!! 2 new tyres were obtained and fitted and we got back to base OK.
Now my loverly E-type is resting in my garage
.... waiting for action ...
