Default New user introduction from Central Oregon USA

Hello All,

Allow this this be my formal introduction!

I have recently picked up a 1991 XJ40 that is non-running. I do not know much about Jaguars, and this is my first. I intend to get this running/driving this summer. PO stated water entered the fuel tank and it was attempted to start, obviously without much success. Further investigation may prove otherwise.

About me:
38 years young, two wonderful teenage daughters, divorced, engaged, calling Central Oregon home since 2006, previously from North Texas, currently working as concierge for an Italian car company.

Currently our garage has the following rigs:
-2002 Ford Escape XLT No Boundaries 4x4 (other half's rig)
-1994 Buick Lesabre Custom (grandfather's old car prior to his passing)
-1991 Jaguar XJ40 Sovereign (just picked up)
-1987 AMC Jeep Comanche 2.5 short bed 2wd (project/hauler/daily driver)

Past vehicles include several Volvos 240s and Honda Accords

At any rate, I hope this brief introduction serves us all well, and I look forward to the vast volume of knowledge available here.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

Profile and signature will be updated shortly.

And for those that missed, US Ford Escape = UK Ford Maverick, but you may have already known that.

Welcome to the pack Oceanic815!
Hope you get your Cat sorted out and on the prowl again soon.

Central Oregon's got some great roads! I'll be crusin through the north central part with my Son this Memorial Day weekend... (John Day Highway down to Painted Hills if weather permits...) and taking in the eastern side of the Cascades (Bend, Crater Lake, and Klamath Falls) in July...

Once you get that Jag rollin again, she'll certainly remind you of how much you enjoy driving all over again!

See ya on the byways!

Welcome Oceanic. I'm a transplant from Texas as well. I also bought a non-running vehicle (needed a "winter project" to keep me out of the cold) that I could work on myself. Will finally be getting it on the road in a week. Good luck getting the car on the road in the near future and looking forward to hearing about your experiences through it all.

Hello Vince, we visited the Painted Hills last year, and my only suggestion would be to go on a cloud-free day if possible. Otherwise, it's as good as postcards show it.

If going to Bend and have never been, take 45 minutes and take a tour of the Deschutes Brewery or take the Cascade Lakes Highway out past Mt Bachelor. Bend loves its roundabouts [traffic circles] and there's more than enough to go around [get it? ]. Pilot Butte is a great place to stop for photos, and has a road which spirals to the top. Lava Butte ten miles south of Bend has a road which spirals to the top of that cinder cone, but Pilot Butte is free whereas Lava Butte is not [National Monument].

I hope this helps somewhat for your journey through my local stomping grounds.

Regarding the Jag, it's currently hibernating in my driveway waiting for me to find time to poke at it... two teenage daughters keep me on my toes!
