New Vegas member with a 'new to me' '05 VDP
Hey everyone, I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I'm Vance and my newest ride is a nice '05 VDP. I've been lusting after this car ever since my mom leased it new and now, 73,000 miles and 7 years later, she finally caved and sold the car to me...
While I wish it was a black Super 8, you can't always get what you want and, there's definitely no way I could have found such a well maintained one-owner car for the price she gave me ;-) It runs great and everything seems to work except the adjustable pedals which, mercifully, seem to be in the full 'down' position to aid my 6'4" frame from folding in half behind the wheel...
I'd like to fix those pedals, just to know that they're really in the full-down position and also so my wife can move them closer to her whenever she drives it but, that's for another thread.
So, hello to all and I hope to make some new friends and gain lots of valuable knowledge, tips and insight from all of you fellow Jag Junkies out there...
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go hunt for sources on a Super 8 (wire mesh) grill insert.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum Vance,
A one owner Jaguar where you know the full vehicle history from Day 1 is the one to have.
Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ section for help and advice with the pedal issue.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Thanks for the warm welcome, gents. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular here. It's obvious that this is a great resource for owners of all Jag models and vintages.
BTW, it rained here in Vegas today (quite rare) and I got to know the Cat's handling abilities a little better when I switched off the DSC and had a little sideways fun... Woo Hoo! These cars sure are capable, aren't they? Totally predictable and completely confident even when pushed past the limits.
I love it!

Same weekend in the North East of England. Lightning strikes and vehicles floating down the city streets in flood waters.
I could be tempted to suffer the heat for a change!
