New western Canadian XK8 owner

Many years ago , after having first an MGA, then an Austin Healey 100-6 I bought a used XK140MC coupe (couldn't afford even a used XKE, my dream car). It was a marvellous road car, a bit of a handful in the city and when my family outgrew it -much too soon- I moved to a used 3.4L sports sedan. When I couldn't get much needed parts for months due to labour problems at the factory I reluctantly let her go. Many years of living in the north where sports cars are not practical and now in retirement I'm back to my first love. I still can't afford an XKE, but I now am the proud owner of a 1999 one owner low mileage XK8, Carnival Red, ivory upholstery, light brown top. IT'S PERFECT! This is my new dream car. Jim

Hello, Jim,
When I met my husband he was driving a partially restored Austin Healey 100-6! We worked on it together while we were dating. Friends just shook their heads.
But we got a little short of cash and he sold it, still unfinished, for Quite a sum, and the new owner took up where husband and I left off and eventually finished the restoration.
But then he wrecked it.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
