Default New X300 owner

Hi all,

Just registered so thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Andrew, I'm 23, originally from Peterhead, Scotland but now living 30 miles down the road in Aberdeen. I've been interested in cars since my early teens, a characteristic I got from my dad. I've been competing in the production car class at my local stock car track for 3 years mostly using small, FWD hatchbacks.

I'm also a big Jaguar fan though and have been since my early teens. I just feel there's something a Jag can give you that no other car can. My dad also bought an X300 4 litre Sport when I was around 15 and the experience of travelling in that car confirmed my love of Jags. Since then I've wanted a 300 myself and when a 3.2 litre one with the rare manual gearbox and 10 months MOT came up for sale nearby for cheap, I had to have it.

Bought the car around a month ago and have enjoyed it so far, although its now developed a clutch problem which I'm hoping to get fixed soon. Not sure exactly what model the car is as a previous owner has put an XJR badge on the back at some point in place of the original one. It was built in 1994 so its a very early X300, must've been just after they changed over from the XJ40s. Anyway here's some photos, click the thumbnails to enlarge

cheers

Andrew

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums. The manual version is a rare and desirable beast! That's a very tidy looking example.

Hi guys,

Thanks GGG for the advice and compliments about my car, shell seems to be in good condition considering its 20 years old, have seen more recent ones in worse condition. Knew the manual was rare and thought I might not get another chance to buy one. Will get the car details put in my signature.

Thanks Doug for the welcome, Douglas is my middle name believe it or not

Norri - a Scot!

Whatever made you come to that conclusion?

Welcome aboard and happy motoring. Not a Scot here but Irish, which may come a close second?

Thanks I'm a big fan of Irish folk music, specifically the Dubliners' older stuff
