Hey - I just bought a 2002 XJR. I got into a demo x308 at an auto show in North Carolina when I was 14 years old and loved it since then (my Dad had a ~68 xke when I was a kid). I have been researching them a couple times a year for the last 3-4 years, and and am now I am able to afford and service one, and just got my first Jag a few days ago!

I know 80's and early-90's era Mercedes very well as I spent a lot of time at my Dad's Benz shop, but Jaguars and newer cars and performance cars in general are new to me (I've had only 80's 300d, 300sd, and 300e cars before).

Based on VIN and engine serial research on the forums, and service history I most likely have an older-chain tensioner issue that I will be fixing soon. Hopefully I can contribute positively once I have more experience with the car.
