Hello from Allentown, Pennsylvania. I own a 1982 XJS HE with only 30,000 miles. The car was purchased new by my late father when I was nine years old. He sold it to a family member in 1987. About 7 years ago I was able to get the car back. The car had been parked for the last 14 years as the previous owner had become old and stopped driving. Last year I finally began the process of getting the old girl back on the road. Happy to report I drove her for the first time this past December with my 3 young kids along for the ride. I have learned a lot from reading many of your helpful and informative posts. I look forward to getting this beautiful Jag restored to her original glory!

Richard

Hello, Richard,
Congratulations on;
a) getting the car of your childhood back in your possession, and
b) getting it running and driving again after its long hibernation.

How satisfying that must be for you.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Richard,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Wonderful to hear of a Jaguar staying in the same family from new.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link US Northeast - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
