Hi All,
Tomorrow I'm picking up my father in law's Jag he is gifting to me as he no longer drives that much these days. He bought it new in 1990, a Signal Red XJS V12 convertible with black interior. Of course I'm familiar with the car having driven it a number of times over the years. It has been garaged it's whole life, only has 60K miles on it, and has had everything fixed that's gone wrong over the years…….although he did mention that the AC just recently stopped working. I'm really looking forward to getting used to the car…….first up will be a full set of fluid changes, then a full systems/functional check, followed by a major detail (all done by yours truly). I do plan to do all repairs/maintenance myself supported by the great advice and expertise on this board
.
My previous "fun" car was a 997 Carrera S cab……..another legendary car, but a different beast altogether. I rarely if ever see an XJS on Bay Area roads, and I love the fact that I'll get to own and drive such a beautiful and apparently rare car. 911s on the other hand are a dime a dozen around here and no one bats an eye.
I'll post pics once I get her (him?) home tomorrow. Looking forward to chatting with everyone………..I'm sure I'll have lot of questions.
