Default New XKR owner in Seattle

Hello all,

I signed up a while ago when I was strongly thinking about getting an F type. Problem was it wasn't too practical with wife AND kid, so I never pulled the trigger. Ended up driving an XKR and couldn't say no- my 3 year old had a blast, me and my wife loved it so we made it happen. Didn't really need 4 cars but I mean... why not? Lol.

I know you've already posted in X150 and US Northwest Region forums so there's no need for any links from me.

Thanks everyone! I can already see this forum will be a huge help as I plan to DIY as much as I can. I used to paint cars for a living and I'm pretty committed to keeping this car the original color and not painting anything that isn't needed lol.

Your skills may be needed. My 2014 had corrosion repair above the vent under warranty in 2018:

Two years on and it hasn't reappeared.

My 2007 in Indigo Blue had no similar issues when I sold it in 2017.

Welcome DcDeuce. Nice looking XKR. I am the proud owner of an 08 convertible. Very fun car.... and on occasion my daughter has hitched a ride in the back seat. She is just as adorable but 20years old! Not sure how anything fits back there.

Keep us updated on your experiences surrounding the XKR. I do the majority of work on my XKR. Mostly maintenance, but I get into more advanced repair on some of my other vehicles. Truth is, the Jag has not needed too much. I am hitting 70K mi on it so there may be more work to do.

Including pic of my Jag

Hey man, welcome to the forums AND to Seattle! I've had my own XKR for about 9 years. When I first got it, all 3 of my boys and I could fit in it. Now they're all almost 6' tall and no one acknowledges the back seat anymore.

So recently I saw an XJL SuperSport on BaT and now, once again, my kids will acknowledge that my Jaaaaag has a back seat.

Thanks! I've already been a little unexpectedly surprised that every XK I pass around here waves at me lol. Brings me back to the motorcycling days! Nice looking XKR!

Yeah, it's fun to watch which car/bike cultures wave at each other.

The XKs are so rare, that you're surprised when you see one on the road.
Bikes are just mandatory, you always wave.

There's an ABFM down towards Portland this weekend. Y'all should bring your Cats out! I put the info in another post.
