Hey everyone! I'm a newbie, just joined.
I own a 1996 xj6 that is black on black. I haven't loaded all my pics yet but will do so in the next day or two. I also have two corvettes (one for me and one for the wife) but the Jag is our family car. I considered a lot of cars before I bought the Jag and debated if I wanted to go so far back in age. The Jag is as I said black on black and I have had several people comment on the rarity of a black car with a black leather interior, so some input in this area would be appreciated. Anyway hello and look forward to having fun and learning some things about my Jag on here, so carry on!

Black leather is a bit rare in my experience, yes. Mine is black/black, too.
Your XJ6, often referred to as the "X300" type, is widely considered one of Jaguar's best models in terms of reliabilty and durabilty. Oh, they have some known trouble spots, yes....but overall they're soild and dependable.
Cheers

Doug, Super Mod, Stevetech, and Matt, Thanks for the welcomes. I had been told about the black on black by Terry at Cherry Motors but I guess I didn't realize it was as rare as I am hearing it is. I have pics I,m going to try to load to my profile today, so I will drop a reply when I do. ![Icon Photo](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_photo.gif)

I also belong to the Corvette Forum as I bought my wife one for Valentines Day to keep her outta my Jag.
It worked kinda, but let's face it they are truly a fine automobile and the ride is unmatchable. I watched the one I've got for about two years before I bought it and when the opportunity prevailed I jumped on it. ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
As for the Vette it's a totally different beast. They're fun, but if you have to go a distance when driving I much prefer the ride of the Jag. The Vettes (yeah plural, I bought another '85 last week) they may corner just a little bit tighter but not by much. The first thing I realized was how low the roofline is and how really well it does handle.
