Newbie/65' MK2 Project
Hello! From the great Northwest, Grants Pass/Portland/Seattle.
I'm an old GearHead Hot Rodder, very well experienced in building cars from Hot Rods to sports racing cars and Bobbers. Engine building from Flat Head Cadillac's and Fords, to Maseratti V-6's, Quad Cam Fords and Suzuki's(Bike).
Will be restoring a 1965 MK2. Any thoughts from the experienced would be appreciated. Especially on rebuilding the Engine/Auto tranny/Rear Dif/Brakes.
Any leads for parts and services would be appreciated too. Car is complete, but some parts are out of spec condition. Body is free of perforation rust and only light body damage. Upholstery is in exceptionally good condition. Wood is deteriorated/shot!.
The restoration of the body on the MK2 will begin after all parts are reconditioned or acquired.
Last project was the installation of an M5 drive train into a pristine 328is coupe. Current project is a Phantom 61' Olds '88' roadster. Should be done by next Spring.
Feel free to mail me regarding MK2 project.
Cheers .....AL

Great introduction and welcome - sounds as if you've got a lot to teach us!
As Jamey said post in the right sub-forum (which I guess is MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum)
and be sure to put all your car's details in your signature so others can help.

Welcome to the forum AL,
You're the second new member planning a MkII restoration in two days.
Follow the link in Steve's post #3 to the MkI / MkII section for help, advice and to post your progress.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Looking forward to pics.
Graham
