Hey everyone, I've already posted in the XJ40 topic but thought I'd best formally introduce myself. I'm new to jags but not new to working on and owning old cars- So I'd love to meet any bodywork nuts and resto crazies around the place. I'll be doing some DIY work on my XJ40 over the next few weeks and will be sure to pop up plenty of photos.

Welcome to the forum BeckBeck, I have added you to the Qld Roll Call thread.
You have already found the Qld forum and the XJ40 forum so no need for links to them.
Keep an eye on the Qld forum for future member meets & events.

Welcome to the forum BeckBeck,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Looks like your XJ40 has a wheel change to get away from the OE metric alloys? Tyres for them were getting difficult to source when I had the same model (and colour combination) twenty five years ago.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJ40 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Do elaborate on the wheels for me, I had a feeling they weren't stock, and have briefly read about there being a move between metric and non metric wheels- is the wheel change common? They still have lovely Jaguar emblems in the center of each at least! :P

This is my 1989 XJ40 with the standard OE metric alloy wheels:

Tyre size was 220/65VR290TD. The only manufacturer making tyres to fit was Dunlop and many owners have changed the wheels to give a better tyre choice at lower cost.
