Newbie again, looking for info
I am sooo happy - will pick upmy XJ8 tomorrow!
Had a 1991 XJ6 in the past, kept it for 4 years and loved every day of it - minor quirks and all!
The saddest day in my automotive life was when I traded it for a minivan for my wife - ARRGGHH.
Anyhow, since I really don't like the looks of the XJ8 from 2004 on, I figured this is my last chance for a while to get a good looking one. Found locally an 01 and closed the deal. Would have liked an 03, butthis was an absolute creampuff with verified low miles.
Silver with what in my mind wasa must - BLACK interior. Getting rid of my 05 Maxima SE black on black with stick, which has been a great, fun and practical car - but has never touched the soul the way a Jag does.
Funny to be "downgrading" and feel so exited!
Anyhow, the car is pure stock, and I would like to keep it mostly that way, except for a couple of possible changes:
I live the looks of the mesh grill - but I know there are many suppliers of varying quality. I want to be able to get inserts that enable going back to stock.
I know I will miss my Xenons, are the HID kits out there worthwhile? I am not looking to get a blue light to "impress" others - but would like to get better night vision while keeping the car stock looking.
On my wish list I would also love to find a bluetooth kit to enable to connect my Blackberry to the on-board phone setup. I found a reference to Parrot systems, but could not find cost or installers etc. Anyone with experience on this?
Thanks!

RE: Newbie again, looking for info
Good to hear about the HID's. I agree, 6000k is enough.
Yes, I know that the 04 and up are probably a better car from a technical and practical point, but if that was the point for me I would have gotten another Maxima.Unfortunately I think they missed the point on the design end. It no longer has the stance and the sleek lookI love.Hopefully they will climb closer backin design on the nextgeneration.

There are plenty of members out there with theae cars that share the same love n passion you seem to, so you'll be in good company.
