Default Newbie Clock Moment

Hiya Gang,

Today I tried to change the time on my clock in my 2004 X-Type. I pushed, pressed and prodded to no avail. So, I pulled out the manual. Then the fight truly began. The manual said to press and hold the Mode button until TA Volume came on the screen. I pressed. No T-A. It said to also press Mode again for the Clock Set; Press Scan up or down to change the time or, input the appropriate numbers via the numeric pad. NOPE. NADA. NYET. UH-UNH.

I fought with this for over an hour. What I got was: Press and hold the Mode button. 12 Hour Flashes. And Clock Set flashes. Press again, the Hour flashes. Press again, the Minutes flash. Press again your time is set. Unfortunately, it was set at the WRONG time, LOL. Nothing I did would change it. I read and re-read the manual. Nothing worked. I was ticked.

My son got in the car, I told him what was happening and that I followed the manual and that it didn't work. My son pushed Mode, turned the volume down and the time was changed. Just like that. I could have CHOKED him!!! LOL

At that point I had a meditative moment with my car. I told it who is boss. It ignored me. We will speak again, when she's in a better mood.

Initially I was going to move this to a proper section...but seeing as this is a ROOKIE(aka NEWBIE) mistake, it'll stay as is. LOL at you, no with you. HAHAHA J/K! It happens pal, just like my dilemma with the passanger windows that resulted in a trip to the dealer, but ended up being the window lock button being pressed in. LOL
