Smile Newbie Double six Series II

Hi , Ive been bringing one of these back to life, and thought I should join here as a I need a few tips and some information !

I am keeping it " original rather than doing a full resto. So its now perfect, but I do want it reasonable - I need a new headlining doing, and inside I think the carpets have had it as well, but I have had the MOT done, and a small amount of welding, carb kits both sides, both front wings, and some other bits... what do you think ?

Can someone tell me the wheel dimensions and offset ?

Can someone tell me how I can tell if it is a Long wheel base or not ? An easy measurment ? I need to know so I can order the right headlining and the carpets !!

Look forward to hearing from you .

Welcome to the forums Digritz,

I had an XJ12L Series One in that same unusual colour. The additional 4" length of the LWB is all in the rear passenger compartment. Wheelbase is 108" on a SWB and 112" on a LWB.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
It's so great to see a lovely Daimler like this one!
I'll look for you over in our Xj6 Series section where Graham has directed you.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
