Newbie to forum; oldie to Jags
Hello everybody, I am glad finally to be properly engaged in this, my favorite forum, as an avid Jaguar fan. I am driving my 14th Jag since 1967, brought two to the US via transport ship to N.J. fro the UK and now have bought the last three on eBay--with great success, I think.
So to start the list (and I know this sounds a bit ridiculous but there you are!)
1968 Jag Mark VII --collapsed in a heap; 1969 Mark IX -- sold to a friend before moving to the States; 1971 Shipped "Golden Sand" Mark II from Southampton UK >Newark NJ -- sold it a year later at 160% profit (Jags were a bit rare then and no dealers or 'shops' that I could find in the NE
1973 Brought Mark 10 (snow white in and out) from UK to New Jersey --Oct 23 that year, early frost caught me hopping and cracked block -- car towed for trash; An Audi 100, a Volvo V 70, etc. 1976 Jaguar Mark 11 3.8 S --sold two years later (Cardinal red/black) --burned out clutch in fiendish traffic on Cross Bronx Expressway one hot Sunday afternoon -- taken off my hands as favor;
1995 XJ 6 sold in Vegas for $3000 after bout with heat exhaustion; XJR Vanden Plas BRG and very nice and long (son played Basketball for UNLV--one LOOOONG kid!) The One and Only XJR 100 "the Black Beast" gorgeous car --trashed by Liberty Mutual over my protest;
The present + 2003 Silver S Type R currently (under an expensive warranty)_ getting its FOURTH transmission in FOUR months since none of the "new" ones installed have lasted more than three days!
Am here to learn, no little about cars will only buy and drive the oldies, amd looking forward to some good 'stuff!' Paddy/

Welcome to the forum Paddy,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Impressive list of past models you've owned. Four transmissions on the S-Type and you still have a Jaguar!
Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA North East Region forum by following this link USA North East - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
