Newbie Owner of an "Oldie"

Newbie Owner of an "Oldie"
So, I have an uncle that is a car fanatic. He's retired and moving. Calls and says if I am interested to come and take a look at an 83 XJ6 Vanden Plas he has. He never got around to doing what he wanted to with it. A little looking, a little talking, and Merry Christmas, I am now the owner of the car, including a Jaguar shop manual. It needs a "little" work but the price (free) was right.
It has about 75,000 miles. Interior, with the exception of the headliner almost looks new. Everything is there for the car. It has a replacement radio and the factory original is also there. It starts, runs, and brakes well.
Here's a list of what is wrong:
1. Headliner sagging a little.
2. All electrics work, but sometimes need extra pressure on things like mirror controls, window switches, etc.
3. A few of the dark color door trim strips appear to be loosening.
4. Finish is ok. A little crackle looking by the fuel fillers.
5. Radio antenna won't go down.
6. Car starts, but not in Park, only in Neutral
7. Steering wheel out of alignment and when driving from his house to my garage, it does want to pull to one side.
8. Clunking Noise - coming from front, only when going going over bumps, on smooth road, quiet.
9. Not much noticeable rust. The only areas I can find are 2 spots about 1 inch each, just starting to bubble near the windshield base, and one on the right front fender, lower, between the wheel well and the door.
That's all I have found so far. So, any suggestions from the seasoned veterans here as to tackling any of these issues or better yet, what would you consider the priorities to do first?
Thanks for any suggestions. This is great to find a forum like this.

Welcome to the forum verchad,
Congratulations on the XJ6. A great Christmas present. Items 8 and 7 would be priorities for me.
Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread there is a good place to start looking for help with regular issues.

Welcome to the forum, verchad; and greetings from the snowy Midwest Region! Congrats on the new acquisition. That's a great story and sounds like a great car. You will certainly find the support and encouragement to work out some of the car's niggles. Best of luck and enjoy the ride!
