19.2 mpg is best we have done--8.8mpg is worse (right off the clock) but that won't happen often.

Thanks v/much Graham. Don't know how many there are left now, would be interesting to find out. This is the agreement with my son, I pay for repairs, he feeds it. Up to now I'm streets ahead. Just 10 registered with the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club but don't know if that is all XJS or mixture of both XJ's and XJS.

I only had one very brief flirtation with the V12 in a 1973 XJ12. Couldn't get it to do more than 8 mpg which was still sufficiently expensive in 1978 to put me off after 2 months! However, that was in the days before the HE.
I remember the TWR XJS was built in very limited numbers. It looks in VG condition and also my favourite colour.

Hi Graham. Yes the car is in v/good condition mechanically and bodily. Colour is Cobalt Blue over Mazda Tender-blue which is correct because Tom Walkinshaw was still involved (I think) with Mazda. Paintwork was a bit faded in places. I knew about the tin-worm on the xjs so decided to see if there was any problems so had a respray, not the full monty job more of the preventive maintenance thing. Found three bits of rust the size of a 50p, so re-metaled them then sprayed. It was a great feeling finding it in such good condition but not to surprised has it had been garaged all it's life.

Thanks for the welcome and your comment's on the car. If you mean your neck of the woods is from Rossendale, I'm from Bacup.
Dave
PS. On an earlier post I said there were 10 TWR's in the JEC club, I have checked and there are 12 XJS TWR's, but no breakdown of them.

Hi Richard. I started work up in the quarries at Whitworth in 1960, I still walk the moor's whenever it stops raining
Grandad was on the railway, he said it was always scary going over the viaduct.
If you ever need anything from around here, (Info etc) PM me.
Regards Dave.
PS. Have put some more photo's in the photo section.
