Default Newbie from Texas here!

Kinda new to the forum, though ive delved the depths of some of the mechanical knowledge on this forum troubleshooting my own issues with the v12 powerhouse. I currently own a 1985 Jaguar XJS H.E V12, i found her in a field and fell in love (lmao). Though shes spent a couple years grazing with the cows, shes complete with very minimal rust. The big cat under the hood hasnt had a heartbeat in roughly five years. The owner intended to take her across the scales as scrap and i just could not allow that. This weekend will mark the first attempt to get her started, not necessarily running, but started. With extensive repair to the electrical, new plugs and wires, fresh fluids, and good ol American know-how, im certain ill end up cursing the good name lucas (lol) and kicking the tires. I figure if im going to creep the pages of the forum, i might as well introduce myself

Welcome.

Good choice of Jaguar. The mighty V12 is an awesome beast.

Luv you diagnostic choice, tyre kicking works, as does the "Prince of Darkness" being the cause of all that goes AWOL.

Drinking helps also.

Keep us posted on the progress.

ENJOY.

Thanks! I honestly intended to go with a gm swap, even purchased a 350 and a beastly tranny to pair it to. But the deeper i get into the v12, the more i love the intricacies of it. I wouldnt feel remorseful were it a inline six model, no offense, i know the glory of the balanced i6, there just aren't many of the big cats prowling the roads here in east Texas anymore, and i just cant be responsible for another v12 becoming a coffee table.
