Newby checking in
Hello everyone. My name is John Testrake. I live in St. Louis, Missouri USA.
ive had a few Jaguar saloons over the years.
84XJ6. Silver with Mullberry. My first Jag. i did a pretty thourough rolling restoration on it eventually putting a GM700r4 transmission behind the XK6 cylinder. i sold it, then bought it back a few years later. It got rusty and developed a leaky head gasket. i stripped most of the parts off it and sent it to the salvage yard.
85XJ6. BRG with Biscuit. I bought it as a non-runner from a friend. Got it running and was happily bombing around town in it when it was T-boned at an intersection. Insurance totaled it and cut me a check for way more than it was worth.
76XJ12L. BRG with Biscuit. My first V12. It had been sitting for 11 years. I did a complete restoration on it. It won 1st place in JCNA championship division internationally. My brush with fame. I sold it to a local classic car dealer who sold it on. I miss it and would love to know where it is.
74XJ12L. Dark Blue with Dark Blue. It's full UK Spec with right hand drive and chrome bumpers. Originally sold in Glouchestershire and brought to the US about 13 years ago by an Air Force sergeant. I've done a sympathetic restoration on it and still have it.
87XJ12. Warwick Grey with black. This car started out as a Nimbus White/Biscuit XJ6. Not running but a super clean body. I pulled the drive train out and replaced it with a V12 from a 90 XJ-S. I put the GM 700r4 that I had left over from the 84 behind the V12. I repainted it and redid the interior. It's a Frankenstein car with parts from all over but it really fun to drive. I still have it.
Sorry so long. I hope I didn't overstay my welcome.
Very best regards
