Default Noob in mid Missouri

Howdy all, just got my 2001 XKR Coupe delivered Thursday after six months of dealing with probate. A buddy’s dad had the car and unexpectedly passed on St Patrick’s day this year. My buddy was determined for me to end up with it and jumped through hoops to get it done. It left Rhode Island last Monday and arrived in Missouri Thursday with a dead battery, transporter didn’t get the driver door shut all the way and I think the memory on the tilt column continues to run when the car is off. Thanks to a Google search, I found the keyhole for the trunk and yesterday found how to reset the windows for opening and closing the doors, both on this forum. Took her to an unplanned car show today and she was the belle of the ball. Thanks for helping me and having me here.
Chip.

Welcome to the Cyclopsblown34,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Chip,
Congratulations on your new XKR coupe! I have about decided that will be my Next Jaguar.
I hope you get it all sorted in time to DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF when spring comes to your house.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks you all, I’m a vehicle nut and have several brands. This is my first turnkey toy for myself. We’ve got a few vehicles. 260Z, 99 Corvette with 6 speed, 67 Chevy shortbed Stepside lifted with 35” tires, 1970 TR6, 1975 F250 highboy, 1972 Bronco and my 66 Buick Special convertible. Our Daily drivers are 2002 Durango with a 360 and 2002 QX4. Durango and Corvette are the wife’s turnkey vehicles and the 67 is her project truck. I’m always spinning wrenches, doing bodywork or building something. I found the bill of goods on here for the bearings on the belt drive and will be doing that possibly this weekend, my day job is Industrial sales, everything in a factory from abrasives to zerts. Bearings, gearing and electrical are my forte, safety and custodial are an evil necessity to know in my field. I restore and hot rod vehicles for others after hours.
