NZ new member intro
Hi all, Graeme from Auckland, New Zealand. I have a 1970 XJ6 Manual w. overdrive which I 'accidentally' acquired last year. Bought on a local auction website while pushing up an auto-bid (they really annoy me on car auctions). Anyway, misjudged it slightly and ended up with the Jag. Took 3 days to pluck up the courage to admit to the wife another car was turning up
It took all of 2 seconds to win me over though once it arrived, even though it has been off the road for 15 years. Was going to get it roadworthy and sell it on, as my Jag dream had always been the usual E-Type, but now I'm in love with Agatha and she's going nowhere.
However I now start what I feel will be a reasonably expensive restoration, so will be grateful for any help as I go along. My aim is to have her back on the road this year.
Will post pics as I go, but first priority is any wheel & tyre of the right size. Doesn't have to be WoF standard, I just need an old one as both the left front and spare are total write-offs and I'm keen to have her sitting level and not straining axles, bearings etc. Current ones are all old Dunlop Aquajets ER 70 15's
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Graeme,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the New Zealand Region forum by following this link New Zealand - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
