RE: Oil Changes
10k seems extreme to me. but 7500 seems reasonable, unless you drive hard, like me.
I change my oil religiously at 3k to 3500-ish... but i change the oil in the wife's Jeep Commander at around 7500.
'(My 20 yr old daughter changes her oil whenever the oil light comes on, or at 50,000 miles, or when I yell at her..... whichever comes first. [:@] )

RE: Oil Changes
well I can tell you I have NEVER replaced an engine in a Jag that was clean inside, they all have some deposits. I never believe the 10k rec. from Jag, yes fuel burn cleaner, there're much better oils blah blah blah, But a manufacturer defines useful life as the warranty period. Many manufacturers are touting longer service intervals, and would you want X or Y company showing you up by saying their cars dont need as much maintenance and therefore cost less to own? I recommend 5k for synthetics, and 3k for fossil based. unless your super charged then 3k, or 10k is just fine if you only keep cars a few years.
