Old hot rodder--Gonna try a Jag
I've been into rebuilding cars since, well quite a while. I wanted something different so I purchased a 1991 XJS 2 weeks ago.
I have owned a 55 Chevy for the last 30 yrs, street-strip. Wanting something unique (to me) I picked a Jag over Allante, Vette, ect.
I think I'm gonna be in for a real education in the Jag world. Being a known perfectionist this XJS is going to be a real challenge. Hopefully there is alot of helpful people in this forum (another 1st for me).
Along with this challenge, hopefully this will bring new associates as well!!!

A perfect car for a serious tinkerer. You'll find it to be loaded with interesting design features...and "interesting" can mean a variety of things. :-)
Since you know your way around a car you'll find, and appreciate, that it's built like a tank as far as basic structure, suspension, and drivetrain goes. Some of the small stuff....not so much.
Yeah, the learning curve is steep but it can be fun and very interesting if you go in with the right frame of mind.....and very rewarding when you get everything sorted out. An good XJS is a sweetheart to drive.
Speaking of learning curves.....better jump on fuel hoses and Marelli ignition servicing right away. After that, make sure the cooling system is 100%.
Cheers
