Old Jag, new member in Cumbria
hello
I have owned my XK8 2004 convertible for a few years now, and have probably browsed this forum several times without realising I wasn't a member. I have put that right now.
Many thanks to the people who support these forums, and the likes of Gary VanRemortel and John Dee who put so much time into compiling info in other places.
I have loved driving my "magic carpet", and done Lands End & John O'Groats amongst others. Even ventured abroad down to the Millau Viaduct in France. Have a plan for Switzerland this summer, if COVID lets us travel.
Maintenance jobs are coming up. I am trying to head off problems with corrosion at the rear end suspension and sills. Oh I wished my car was in an American warm dry state!
I am spending a lot of time reading existing posts to see if I can find answers to my question, if not then I will post in XK8 section as appropriate.
It never ceases to amaze me how Jag managed to build a car the size of an aircraft carrier, and yet the bolt or fastener you want is always blocked by something!
Anyway, time to get back to the garage.
Regards
Ian
