Old Member, had to do new screen name
Hey all, I am an old XF member and have been driving an XF since 2009.
I first saw one on the freeway and HAD TO HAVE IT!!!!
Company I own was starting to grow and do better and better, so off I went to buy my 2009 "normal" Jaguar XF, loved it!
In 2013, a lady hit me and totaled my car, it was THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! But then, I reazlied I could upgrade and buy an XFR!
So I bought a slightly used XFR in 2013 and have had it since, LOVE the car. Jaguars are soooo much fun to drive and it has been such a dream to use it as a work car. Now has 140,000 miles on it and it is almost all freeway miles from work.
Sadly, I recently got "rod knock" and Jaguar informed me that rebuilding these engines is not possible. As an old mechanic, this is insane to me as I have personally replaced at least 100 rod bearings in my life. But so be it.
I have had several screen names on this forum beofre and chatted with plenty of you, including when I bought my XFR I have now.
My XFR I had the ECU flashed to make it an "XFR-S" (technically) and you can definitely feel the difference in power.
I came back to the forum because sadly, because of the rod knock I am having to sell the car. It is pretty amazing to me that for how almost perfect condition my car is still in look and parts wise, the very little I am able to get or the car. So much so, that a salvage yard seemed to be my best bet and offered me just over $2,000 for it ..... that seemed ridiculous.
So, I have recently begun putting it on Autotrader and CarGurus and the whole nine yards, being extremely honest about what is wrong with it and what is great about it.
The entire car was painted recently so the paint is pretty much pristine, the supercharger assembly and belts were replaced at 130,000 miles and the differential was replaced (god I got lucky) at 94,000 miles just before the warranty ran up.
I saw there is a post here about someone rebuliding an engine (something Jaguar told me was not possible) so I figured I would also put a post up on here about selling it and will take any reason able offer.
I honestly would get another XFR if they still made them, when the dealer told me about the rod knock and what "the deal" was, I told him to take me into the showroom to see the newest XFR's so I could get another one and was SHOCKED to learn they no longer make them. So sad ....
So anyways, introducing myself as the rules state, I have also put up a post about the car and hopeuflly someone here i interested in it. Again, I will let it go for a VERY reasonable offer (just not $2,000) and if anyone is interested, I have videos of the outside (with commentary from me about any small defects) as well as a second video of the inside with the same commentary.
I wanted to attach the videos but they are too large. So, I took a picture of Scarlette (her name) in my garage and if anyone is interested let me know.
I still drive the car every day, just kinda waiting for it to break I guess. But again, if anyone is interested please let me know through PM here or email me at roger@techniglove.com and I can send you the videos of the car I am talking about. Again, it is in INCREDIBLE condition.
Has been a great commnity though! Love you all!

Why do you have 'several screen names' on this forum?
