OOPS, New Memr Introduction
I posted this introduction in the regional area, obviously in the wrong place.
Hi everyone. My name is Ken and I recently bought a 1988 XJS with an engine swap/GM conversion in mind.
I found the car at a storage lot, the previous owner had passed away and the lot owner had no idea until 6 years later when they were finally able to locate a family member. The family GAVE the car to the storage lot. The car had sat for 8 years without running when I acquired it.
IT NEEDS EVERYTHING.
Wiring is all dry rotted with insulation falling off, interior turned to dust when touched. Leather hard as a rock and splitting. Headliner sagging and turned to dust when touched. NO KEYS.
I have pulled the engine and installed a Chevy Small Block with a TH400 transmission. I chose the TH400 because that was the factory stock transmission. Right now I have a 305CID engine but, I plan to change that after all the bugs are worked out.
Any tips or ideas are always appreciated.
