Default Pete from Oz hoping to buy an XKR

G'day

Pete from Oz here.
I intended to buy a modern classic by way of a 1996 MGRV8 early next year and had been doing some research for about 6 months into them .
The sourcing of one wasn't working out too well so I then moved on to looking around for a late 90's , XK8 convertible. There seems to be a few of those in good nick over here.
I was happily going down the XK8 road when a mate told me about the XKR.
Bugger !!! I had an idea and a plan in place and had a budget in mind and then I start researching the XKR. Back to the drawing board as they say.
Oh well , looks like an XKR.
I am 52 and I reckon everyone should own and regularly drive at least one Supercar in their life
Wish me luck

Pete

Welcome.

The XKR, awesome beast.

I agree with the " Super car" comment.

I/we spent many years with the XJ-S V12 as the daily driver, now thats a car, really, but NOT for the feint hearted.

An S R will appear one day, maybe.

welcome to the forum, you will find a wealth of info and support here simply follow the links below:

Follow this link: XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues. There is also a great guide on what to look for when searching for an XK8/R

Please add a Signature to your profile including model and year to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

No need for the regional link as you have already found the regional section - great place for info on local events, news, repair shops, etc.

Enjoy .

Welcome to the forum Pete,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Follow Steve's link in post #6 to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
In the 'HOW TO' thread at the top, look out for info on the three model weaknesses - tensioners, cooling system and 'sealed for life' transmission.

Enjoy the forums.
