Default Picking up X-Type this Friday, hopefully!

Hi, My name is Barry Chapman, I live in Plymouth, Devon, UK and will hopefully be picking up my 2004 X-Type, 2.5 V6 blue estate on Friday. I say hopefully as there are a couple of minor problems that need sorting before I cough up the dosh for it!

The probs are a glass section tail gate that won't open and the auto box is 'stuck' in Sport mode, I think it is a dodgy switch.

I have owned a Jag a long time ago in the eighties a XJ6 2,8 auto but only for a few months!

I enjoy tinkering with most thing electrical, electronic & mechanical. My recent history is I had a mini I developed into a fairly swift hill climb & sprint car between 05 & earlier this year. It is now residing in the Isle of Man and with the sale proceeds I have bought a motor bike based trike! A new toy for me to tinker with!!

I was in the Royal Navy for 34 years, leaving in 05 and am now a network engineer here in the Plymouth Naval Base.

I look forward to getting the Jag, I had a test drive for a few miles and liked it immensely. It is the estate version as we have just bought a rather large tent to go Glamping in and need lots of space for all of the kit we have amassed over the years.

Regards,

Barry

Shame. A waste of a good Sunday getting to know it.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
