Planning ahead for my mid life crisis...

The siren song of an XK8 convertible is making me shed pounds and grow hair even as I write this (metaphorically speaking). ![Icon Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
My only experience with Jaguar was a 1979 XJ6 with a John's Chevy 350 conversion, it came to me that way. I loved that car, it's cliche but it was absolutely cat like. Quiet, supple and of course, the intoxicating smell of Connolly leather. It had dual exhausts (I think Flowmasters) and the burble of that V8 was music.
I've been driving Lexus RX since '06 and they are wonderful cars. I've long since established how to inexpensively drive them, local independent mechs, where to get discount parts and of course, the wonderful Club Lexus forums for the same excellent advice I see dispensed here.
My main concern in making the switch was the reliability factor. I have spent enough time in your archives to know your cars are as predictable as to what is going to break when as my Lexus. Another thing I have overcome is the possibility of buying an old one and still being able to expect a reasonable owner experience.
I'm looking at several under 50K in miles and around 16K in price, does that seem reasonable?
I apologize for turning this into a novel!
