Default Possible 2005STR - newbie to forum questions

Hello everybody! I'm a 67 year old guy who's new to this forum but not to Jags. I had a 2005 3.0 for 7 years until a 18 year old chick t-boned me last week while texting when she blew though a red light. I've also had an XJ6 and a couple of E-types in my history so I understand there are always special "issues" with Jaguars.

I'm looking at a 2005 s-type R with 79K on the clock for a new DD, maybe averaging 6-7K per year. It was offered as a Jaguar certified pre-owned to the second owner and has consistent dealer service though its history including a new water pump 3 years (and 20K) ago. The carfax history shows it a California vehicle until the third owner moved to Michigan. Everything looks pretty good, but I am sincerely concerned if there is a limited shelf-life of the supercharger and associated parts.

I would do a PPI but the car is in a different city and I have time constraints (mine) on when I can pick it up. Can you help an old guy out and give me a rundown on the primary areas and issues I should look out for or expect? BTW, just to show that I do love pain, I also own a '91 Porsche 928S4 - actually, I love that car. Many thanks for your comments!

Welcome! I did months of research before buying mine and I think the '05 is the pick of the litter.
