Thanks Graham! I did ask about the keys when I took it for the drive. I noticed only one key and no remote. The gentleman that let me take it out said he will ask the owner about them. I値l be calling him tomorrow to check on things like that before I go there Tuesday. I appreciate your input!! The forum has been great and everyone is super helpful. I also noticed the rear view mirror was an auto-dimming mirror but the fluid inside was messed up. Found some links on here about having it repaired.

 

Just hung up the phone with the gentleman I have been dealing with. He has all the keys and the key fobs. So that痴 a plus. The owner had them safely at home along with the title. Very excited here but also a bit nervous. Plans are to pick it up tomorrow and drive her to her new home here. 🤗😱😍
I have already called some Jaguar shops to get prices on the tensioners and the hydraulics for the top.

Ask for all the paperwork from the owner - bills, quotes and (if willing) photos of the vehicle. Provenance is everything with a used Jaguar and you rarely get a second chance to acquire this history.

Thanks Graham! I didn稚 even think to ask about photos. I know he has all of the paperwork and the shop he痴 had work done at told me they will switch records over to my name and give me all the service history too. I have the car fax from when he bought it from the original owner and the current one as well.
I love history of items. When I bought my house built in 1938 it came with a folder of original photos and the blueprints. I should have thought about the car photos too. I think I知 just so excited! haha

Welcome! Bought our 98 XK8 recently, wanted to get my wife one; four were for sale in our area, wife liked the color of this one, so we looked at it first. She fell in love, we never looked at another one.

 

Thanks. I am usually not a fan of black cars because they show every little mark. The color is beautiful though. That sparkle in the sun! Glad she loves the car.
