Default Prospective 1998 XJR owner in Memphis

Hello all,

I'm going to look at a 1998 128,000 mile Jaguar XJR tomorrow

1998 Jaguar XJR

A bit nervous about it...so that is why I came here.

I've owned and maintained a number of old BMWs, and am no stranger to junkyards, but I certainly don't want to purchase a money pit.

Headed over to the 1998 XJR board shortly. In advance I gretaly appreciate any guidance that can be provided.

Best to all,

Tannat (James)

Welcome to the forum James,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

The first thing I noticed in the pics is the cupholder and the driver's seat switch pack are broken. Jaguar trim parts are expensive to replace and you should factor this into negotiations.

Check the Service History carefully and question any gaps closely.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Southern MidWest Region section by following this link Southern MidWest - AR LA MS KY TN AL - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
