Proud owner of'95 xj6vdp says HELLO!
Just bought it yesterday. Less than 83,000 original miles!
It's ALMOST mint-couple of minor ( look REALLY, REALLY close and you can find two tiny door dings, a 2" mark on the rear fender, a small ding on the bonnet by one of the head lights and the headliner is starting to lose it's grip in a few spots.) annoyances.
The door lock does some stupid thing, as well.
BUT WHAT A CAR TO DRIVE!
Sucks me into the cockpit and doesn't want to let me out.
Previous owner took very good care of it ( Got it from the son of the original owner).
But what else would you expect from an ****-retentive military man? ( Just like me! :-)
I'll post some pics when I can figure out how.
I previously had an '85 XJs that drove me nuts ( kept it only 3 months ) and was not half the car this is though she was a beauty to behold.
As you might get the sense I am totally thrilled to possess this fine machine and, God willin', for a VERY LONG time it'll be mine.
Look forward to meeting other enthusiasts and brain pickin y'all.

Thanks, ever so much,...
for the welcome wagon, to all you guys.
For any of you in the Gay Area...er, I mean Bay Area, I work at a local shop in San Mateo.
If you type in EUROPEAN CAR CARE into a Google search bar you will get our Yelp reviews.
I can probably save you fix-it yourself types a bunch of money on parts as the owner lets me sell at 20% over OUR cost.
For instance I was looking at a coil pack for mine and good golly Miss Molly! the thing listed for over 3 bills! My cost was around 70 something.
Not trying to make money here-just trying to be a helper.
I'm going to be needing a bunch of advice and tips from members here and I figure this is kind of a "you scratch my back I scratch yours" type of thing.
In no way am I trying to cut into any guys who may already have that niche' filled here and if that is the case I respectfully withdraw any service that board members are already provided with.
With that said, who knows where the best ( read REASONABLE COST and SUPERB SERVICE ) place is to get my headliner replaced in the Bay Area?
Thanks in advance.

Headliner fix update
Since it was about a foot and a half long and 10 or so inches deep, between the Driver's and passenger's windows, I got out a can of the 3M spray adhesive that we use when we put new heat shields on the hoods of old Benzs as they fall off or desintegrate, and gave it a blast on both the top and the liner areas that were loose. Let sit for about 20 minutes then pressed and smoothed the liner back onto the roof.
WOO HOO!
WOrked like a charm.

Thanks Ahol

BTW, I really prefer the rims that are on yours ( and mine, too ). Are these the mightily disparaged "aeros" that I read about here? The ones that seem to be the odds on favorite here are too close to a copy of the old Cragar and American rims we had on 'muscle cars'.
I think yours are 'classy', yet not overstated, nor underwhelming either but rather remind me of days of yore when a conglomerate of style, sophistication and upper-crusty pomp dominated the World...(as I stand sipping my tea with right hand pinky finger pointed at an alarming angle and my left arm akimbo, gazing out across a misty blue sky scape from my veranda overlooking the river Seine.)
Nyuk, nyuk, Nyuk! ( Insert pic of Curly Howard clad in golf attire )

Hello JonnyO and welcome to jaguarforums.com.
Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Just reading me first posts...
and it seems I sure was in love with my '95...yeah, I was.
Honest to God, I gave her a last bath and wax before selling her ( for 3Gs more than I paid so that's how I rationalized letting her go :-/ ) and had to stifle the moisture as I thought FOR SURE I'd never possess such a fine machine again. Really was funny. You'd have thought somebody died by my demeanor for the next several days!
Then I found an even lovelier woman...er, car...and am loving the driving.
Not the petrol costs...but sacrifices must be made...
