Hello everyone!
I happened along quite a treasure. I just purchased a white on russet red 1987 XJ6! Seems the owners were the 3rd, and restored this to be a stock beauty! They had this car saved for grandchildren. Now at 8 grandkids, they realized they best sell it to avoid confrontation, lol. (Undoubtedly so!) Any how, I am going to need some help with minor issues. The speedometer seems to have PMS, and I'd like to know where to request help on testing it please?
I can't afford to throw parts at it, as I had to buy a new set of tires, and radiator hose within the first few days of owning it. They used tire gel and it hid the horrible dry rot these tires had! Shame, shame!!
As Garfield would say..."they outta be drug out in the street and shot!
They knew I was a single Mother and doing good to afford the car. The "great tires" were part of the selling point. "Goodyear with over 75% tread." Tread don't matter if they crumble to pieces when driving down the road...
Anyhow, I'm happy to have found this forum and can't wait to learn more about this beautifully made piece of craftsmanship I now own!!!
With gratitude,
Anjelah
