RE: Student car project Help!
Hi there,
My name is Ash and I am a student currently studying at The Glasgow School of Art. For our current design brief we have been asked to interview groups that interests us in order to create a product or service that would interest them.
I've been a major car enthusiast for years so naturally I thought it would be great opportunity to get to know some other car fans so this forum was my first port of contact.
If I was post to some questions related to Jaguar and being a Jaguar enthusiast would any of you being willing to answer or discuss the topics further?
I can appreciate this is a huge ask,
But here's hoping.
All the best
Ash

Welcome. If your aim is to become a car designer, I certainly have some opinions for you. I went to a new car show yesterday and it struck me that every last sedan had very nearly the same identical profile when viewed from the side elevation. And most of them had even adopted the new fad of installing massive bug-eyed headlights that stick out from under the hood (just me, but I hate those). Plus the personal luxury car segment is all but dead and needs to be revived. One upon a time, most manufacturers made both two and four-door versions of their sedans. Even Jaguar briefly made the XJ12C. So there's an idea for you. Design a 2-door XJ-C and just put four small, simple, round headlights on it.

RE: Student Project Questions!
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome!
I'm currently studying product design at the Glasgow School of Art and our current brief is to work with groups that interest us in order to create something.
I've designed and attached a PDF which has all the questions I can think of for now, so when you get a chance could give them a try and hit me up when you've got answers for them
The end goal of the project is to create a product or service that would fit your needs or desires as a Jaguar Enthusiast!
All the best
Ash

In answer to your questions, Slide1,probably 1 or 3 because they're old guys. Slide2,Shoes I'd have to try on for comfort. Q1,Yes, I own a Jaguar. Q2,Became a car-guy at probably age 2 or 3 when I got my first Matchbox car - I was obsessed with Matchbox and Hot Wheels as early as I could remember. Q3,My first Jaguar encounter was when my uncle restored an XK120 in the late 70s and I thought it was one of coolest looking cars ever. Even the engine looked cool. Q4,Favorite element of the classic Jags is the unique shapes. Q5,Favorite element of modern Jags, (referring only to the F-type), again a beautiful and unique shape. Q6,By age 40, my priorities had switched from speed to comfort. Q8, My daily commute over the asphalt cattle trails our city calls roads doesn't hurt as bad in the XJ8. Hope that helps you.
