Smile Reading for years thought I'd better join.

Hi Guys been around for some time reading various threads & thought I had better contribute.

Over the years I have owned many Jaguars from the Mk 2 through to the current 1999 XKR.

Now living in the frozen North of Scotland for the past three years & here you have to fix it yourself unless its a land rover or other 4x4 (or a tractor). 250 miles to anything like an Indie!

Before coming here I sold my collection of XJ6, Sovereign (x2), XJ12 saloon (6 Liter) & XJS V12. Had to keep one & I chose the XKR, mainly because I had just done top & bottom tensioners & chains to 4.2 metal one's, new discs, front calipers & resprayed it - seemed a shame not to use it for a while.

Also bought a Lotus Esprit up, but spent the first year changing suspension parts all the time due to the state of the roads - (that's the price of trying to ride a thoroughbred over ploughed fields). So that went too!!
