Default Really like my new car

Hey everyone, I just found this site looks like there is a wealth of info here. I bought a 2003 X-Type, Blue with White interior. Plan on upgrading the stereo system and maybe a light tint (feels like the sun is always on me). Can't wait to try the AWD in the snow...

Hi, we dont get much snow over here in the UK, but when we do the country comes to a halt! No good a keeping the roads clear.

But the Jaguar is good in any weather as it is so comfortable.

My name has always entertained people, I never get a break, but it doesn't bother me or I wouldn't have chose it as a screen name.It is greek and has almost the same pronounciation as Christ. I already took some pictures but didnt like the way they came out. I will get some new pics going this weekend and get them up asap. I am in the process of making a website that has pictures of all the cars I owned. I seem to change them out every 3 or 4 years.

Welcome christo! Glad you decided to stick with the jag...don't forget to post some pics!

Does your car have dynamic stability control (dsc?) This button is by the cupholders and it has a car with swerve marks behind it. With or without it the car handles great and is really a great car. Eventually the car can get hung up on its belly when the snow gets deep but it still does a great job! You will be excited in the winter especially if you have dsc!

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay?

Looks like we have the same car? My rims are slightly different, they are some kind of 10 spoke rim - pics will be taken today. Look for them and let me know what you think...

Cupholders? Plural? I dont even have that. I have 1 cupholder. Seems like I am missing the button which you speak of. Also lacks heated seats and the bumper sensors. I really like the automatic wiper option though. But I have some questions:

By the cupholder there is a led that flashes when I lock the car and there is a vent over there. What is the purpose of that vent? Is the alarm any good?

There is an amber light that shines down from the moon roof when the lights are on? Is there a way to turn this off? I do kind of like the mood it sets lol!

How do I know if I have the Sport? There is a sport button by the shifter.

As far as what I paid, well it was really low. I have some connections at a local dealership and paidjustunder $10K forit. Needs paint work, the owner said that he scratched a few spots himeself - claims the key is way too sharp???? Oh well, the dealership is going to hit the spots for me in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully they give me one of the new jags as a loaner!!!

I think they changed the console to allow for 2 cupholders in 04...my bad...the sport model comes with dsc.

The easiest way to tell if you have the sport from the exterior is whether you have chrome at the 4 corners of your bumpers? If they are painted that usually means that it is the sport model not the normal. Otherwise the type of wood on the inside and a few other things like suspension and rims differentiate it as well as seats.

As for that light no there is no way to shut it off w/out modifying it. Personally I love that light and miss it!

That "S" button just allows the tranny to shift at a higher rpm, personally I liked using the j-gate but be careful don't want to mess the transfer case/tranny up being stupid and doing something you shouldn't be doing!

If you don't like the look of chrome you can always change it out...no biggie on the dsc I always shut it off when we had deep snow so I could carve through. The dsc is a great help but since you don't have it you wont miss it!
