rear door open switch
Hi, I,m new to the forum. I have owned my 1996 XJ6 since 1998 and now reside in a rural area in southwest Colorado USA. Obviously, I have had to learn to kept my kitty running on my own. I have the help of a good friend and excellent Jag mechanic in James Vaughn of Edmond, OK USA, but he is 800 miles away and we do most our our repair info and work by phone or email. The current issue is the micro switch in the left rear door latch. It needs repair or replacement and I have read with interest some of the solutions in this forum and online. However,if I am going through the effort of removing the latch, I'd just as soon replace rather than repair the switch. Has any one found a replacement ? Does anyone have information as to who made the switch, model/part number etc? Thanks in advance for your help, glad to finally join the group.

Welcome to the forums KittyXJ6,
Good to have you with us. That must be a challenge at times for repairs!
Here's a thread on door latch microswitch replacement:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-181410/page2/
It doesn't mention sources but a question there should get the information.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
