Welcome to the forum jockmahogis,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

You'll need to give a few more clues about the kind of sound. Metal against metal of binding brakes or worn suspension bushes; rubbing wheels against bodywork .....

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68//

Hi,thanks for reply, well had her into the garage this morning they say can't find nowt wrong,I still think there's something not right but it's intermittent so not easy I suppose to diagnose, I've booked in for a gearbox service for Monday (prevention better than a cure) and see how things pan out ,will update if/was a problem,ps my first jag lot to learn, jon.

Hi,this was my initial thought as the near/side/rear break pads were very well worn as opposed to the other pads, worn pads have been changed and EPB recalibrated but that doesn't mean it's not sticking on as you say, cheers jon.

Any updates on your problem? I have a similar sounding problem that appears to be coming from the rear near side, and again, like yours, its intermittent.

Hi, I was driving the jaguar only yesterday for around 10 miles and the noise happened twice for short periods of 10 seconds, the garage checked everything for any signs of bearings wear, breaks sticking on etc but can't find anything, other than this occasional noise the car is fabulous,I'll keep snipping&pruning and hope it'll all come out in the wash, jon.
