Default Rell from nj whats up!!

Hey Whats up Guys,
I have a 2000 Jaguar S Type 3.0. with 170k miles and I kinda like my paid-off, still good-looking, Jaguar .
MY ISSUE IS:
-the transmission has started to slip and it has been doing this for a couple months.. so its going bye bye (sealed transmissions dont get typical maintenance)
-the car has develpoed a rod knock
I typically buy/fix and sell cars but clearly the engine and trans price will be more than the car is worth given its age and mileage...but i do NOT want a carnote but i wan a european car equally as nice and I dont like the idea of scrapping my baby..so i have been flirting with an idea:
Im looking to find a 2003 s-type r thats been totaled or flood damamged or w.e. and after having the motor pulled(gaskets replaced/timing chain done) swapping everything over to my car....I am aware it will be time consuming and the physical swap (I don't believe, but idk) shouldnt be hard as ive done many OEM engine and trans replacements before..
I just figure if im gonna spend a **** load of money to put it back on the road it would be cool to have a S-type r ....id have an updated interior instead of the dated 00-02 interior.....and oh the power would be fun too..ESPECIALLY WITH NO CAR NOTE .
I know this is alot to throw at a brandnew forum but if you are on here you probably have tested the water when it has come to your vehicle....I dont claim to Know everything and i will be starting my search this month for an STR....so any info you guys have for me I appreciate....Thanks in advance....

Welcome to the forum s_type_r,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It could be done but I can't see you getting your $$$ back when it comes to a sale. Depends on how much the donor vehicle costs.

Follow Norri's link to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Good luck and enjoy the forums.

Graham
