Default Replacement ECU for Manual X300 required

Hello All,

Can anybody advise where I could pick up a replacement ECU for a manual XJ6 (x300) 4.0L Sport, 1996 Plate?

I have had numerous problems with the car cutting out during running, and have replaced starting coils, the air flow meter, TDC sensor and cooling water temperature sensor. When attached to the diagnostics computer the fault code is showing for damaged ECU.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm on the verge of moving this car on which would be a minor tragedy as it is in good condition otherwise.

Welcome to the forum Martin,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Reports of a failed ECM are rare on the forum. If you post the DTC's in the X300 forum, members with the same model may be able to come up with additional possibilties to eliminate before you finally condemn the ECU.

If you have already tried the specialist UK Jaguar breakers, a quick search turned up 10 X300 ECU's listed on ebay UK.

Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Enjoy the forums.
