Default Rivguy says hello.

I have wanted a Jag for along time but never made the plunge. I've had a lot of experience working on motorcycles and American and Japanese cars, Never had a European car of my own. Found this site and I am impressed by the knowledgeable and helpful members. I am looking for an XJS and am doing my homework first. I am encouraged that the consensus is that it is very possible for the average enthusiast to maintain and repair their own car. I will post an entry when I obtain my car.

Welcome to the forum Rivguy,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XJS tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the USA Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Good luck finding the right XJS for you and enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome.

Yep, Jaguars are simple to maintain IF you keep your cool, do the well troden list once, and repeat every 15+ years.

A liking for "The Nectar of the Gods" helps heaps, as does a good handle on the "other" language. A sense of humour fits in there somewhere.

Fun is always had, so plunge on in and enjoy.

Hello,
Yes, most members repair/maintain their own cars, even V12s. Mostly it only takes a willingness to learn and stick to it.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
