Default RNBrock -95 XJ6 Vanden Plas 128000 miles

Hi,
I've got a beautiful gold jag that I bought in California last year and drove to Fort Worth TX in a move here a month ago. I had a great mechanic in CA, and drove her 4000 miles since I left CA. About 100 miles ago, she started making a faint scraping, metal on metal, sound when I was accelerating in low gears. No sound cruising at high speeds.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, she refused to start. She just won't catch or ignite, though a revving sound happens.

Anyone have an idea of what is wrong? Also the windshield washer holder broke, and I'm wondering if there is a cheap way to replace it.

Thanks for any advice!
Rita

Welcome to the forum Rita,

I've rescued your post from the end of CaliforniaMatt's thread and made it an Intro of your own.

With the non-start, is the engine turning over or is there only the sound of the starter motor spinning?

On the Washer, which part is broken?

The question about the scraping noise is best asked in the X300 tech section. Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
