Rookie to Jaguars, 2000 Silver XKR Coupe
Hi there guys,
I am brand new around here and I probably should have started here to get aquainted first. Instead, I dove in launching a bunch of posts and I am sorry to bug you all with the standard new guy stuff.
I got an amazing deal on a PERFECT 2000 XKR coupe and I want to know everything about it yesterday. I have a whole adjenda for the car that I will work through but it is not going to end up like some "pimp my ride" car.
"I do so solumly swear that there will be no monitors in my headrests." (Might not be a bad thing in an XJR but in the XKR, probably not.)
Basically I have four things on my adjenda:
#1) learn everything I can about the car and all of it's details.
#2) Sell the 6 18" Double five wheels that came on the car and get new wheels.
#3) Lower the car slightly... I have looked high and low and there is so much different info I am having trouble determining a plan. Anyone have any suggestions?
#4) Find a good Jaguar mechanic in the Portland Or. area.
I would love any input you guys might be able to offer.
About me:
I am 34yo and work in the health care industry. Like most of you I am sure, I have loved cars my whole life and have always had a soft spot for Jaguar. Look worward to becomming more familar with some of you and your cars.
Thanks,
Jason
P.S. the picture is not actually my car but it looks identical to this one.

Can't help you with any 'coupe' questions D6, but if you have any other inquiries, I may be able to help ya. If it's mechanical, best look to those parts/tech people who frequent these parts. As for initial impression and comment - good choice on the color.[sm=icon_rock.gif]
I'd go a little bigger on the wheels too, the 19's on mine really look good. There's lot's of other Jag wheels out there, try this thread -> https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_13815/tm.htm that I started awhile back that has some links to refurbed/new wheels from all models.
I can't remember where I saw some posts on lowering them, though it has been a topic on the XK*s within the last couple months. Try a search, maybe you'll have better luck.
come back soon!

Some great ideas on the wheels. I am leaning towards a bigger but still stock look... Hmmmm.
I will post a picture soon, I have actually not had access to the car because I have been traveling for work but I willhave one up soon.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi Jason,
Wow, I also have a silver 2000 XKR coupe and I live in the Portland area.
I just installed some 20" TSW wheels on my car. I sold the stock wheels on Ebay!
The shop I use is The Jag Shop. It isat 5710E Burnside, phone is 503-731-9919
we should start a Portland 2000 silver XKR coupe club
good springs to lower the car are H&R!
