Default S-Type project car

Hi all,

Ive been lurking in the background for a couple of years, just goes to show have usefull the info on this site is, posts downloads etc.

As the title suggests my S-type 2001 3.0 v6 has turned out to be more of a project car than expected especialy as it only had 76k km and really was driven by anolder gentleman (you could tell that the other seats hadnt been used at all.

So far Ive had the following failures:

3-4 pre stroke (new spring set fitted)
front window lifters L & R
Rear axle framework replaced (completly rusted through, the back wheels were moving gulp!)
Throttle body failure (still working on this one)
Upper coolant hose (the nipple to the bleeding hose disintegrated, waiting for a new hose)
Vacuum leaks IMT, a Marder had chewed through the elbow at the firewall.

Still think its a really nice car though and worth keeping on the road, my Mrs drives it mostly and loves too hear the jag roar.

cheers Kevin

Welcome to the forum Kevin,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

After lurking for a couple of years, you won't need a link to the S-Type tech forum.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is always a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Europe Region forum by following this link Europe - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Kevin,
Us girls frequently don't get our due credit for also liking hot and noisy cars, not to mention fast ones.

It's Really good you got that rear wheel fixed! It's not good to have the rolling stock falling off! No, Not good at all!

Welcome from ElinorB.
