Saloon Lover
Hello all,
My name is Matthew, I live in Spokane, WA and I'm the new owner of two 1960 Mark IV Saloons. Both car's are pretty much complete, but one is considered a parts car as it was pulled from a junk yard and has a fair amount of rust. I'm going to embark on an engine rebuild and hope that the BW tranny is operable, since the car was last driven in 1980.
Things I've been researching and would love some input on is where's the best and cheapest place to find parts, tips on restoring the wood interior as mine needs to be completely redone and if I don't want to spend the $6-10K on upholstery kits, where's a good place to get the material (or what kind of leather to buy), so I can have a local guy do the interior.
Looking forward to lots of good reads.

Wow Matthew!
What a beautiful find! Congrats!

Do keep us posted to your progress, and keep an eye out on the PNW section of the forum for folks in your area. Your side of the state does not have a lot, but the numbers are growing!

Yes true, Mk 9s they are, the last of a marvelous era. What colour are the engine heads? I think they should be metallic blue btwn the cam covers. Anything else might indicate a rebuild or replacement. Gold would be a treat.

Mark 9
Appetently I don't know my Roman numerals like I thought. The engine top is blue, according to the odometer it only has 40k on it. The guy I got the car from had it apart and said there's not lip on the cylinder walls. I'm going to do a rebuild, rings, bearing and gaskets and hopefully I won't need to do and boring or milling on the shaft.
