Hi forum! ![Icon Wink](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
My love for Jaguar started out some years back when I purchased a gorgeous 93 one owner XJ6. Jet black on tan with factory chrome wheels. Was in love with it until a drunk driver hit me and totalled it after only 3mos of ownership
As the title suggests, I've recently purchased my second Jag, an extremely well maintained 01 XJ8 with 77k that I got for a stupidly good price. I'm a dealer and we picked it up as a trade for $2k. Paint and interior are gorgeous save for a sag in the rear headliner and cracks in the driver wood door trim. Runs and drives great, has four brand new Continentals on it, and checked out very nicely in a pre-purch inspection. Needed a windshield and some electrical work to the backup lights to pass inspection, but I'm out the door right around $2500. Little price to pay for something that looks so amazingly classy. It will make a fun addition to my stable which includes an 86 Porsche 944, a 2001 Z3, and a late model Infiniti M45 that I picked up for my bride in January of this year.
The cat does have some of the typical random issues though, being stuck in Valet mode for instance. I don't have a green key or keyfobs, so I'm hoping that this one goes away after I get some programmed. I'm also up against the issue that causes spitback when refuelling, an inop CD changer, and difficulty opening the driver door from the inside. My power locks also aren't working except when turning the key in the door; all I get when pushing the dash button is a click and no movement.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to poking around with the car in the next few weeks and hope to have everything working soon. I'm also hoping that you fine people can help me do this, and that I become familiar enough with the car to be helpful as well![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Also, if you live in Virginia and know a great place to get some salvaged Jag parts, let me know!
