Go ask the question in the X-Type forum. They will be able to help you for sure. On my XK8 the belt tensioner is loosened by putting a 3/8ths or 1/2 inch socket wrench (the square bit) in the square hole in the fulcrum of the tensioner, and then rotating the tensioner counter-clockwise as viewed from the front of the car. That takes the tension off of the belt and then you can slip it over a pulley. It helps to have a helper, one to pull on the wrench, and one to slip the belt over the pulley.
