Hi
My xk8 comes up with gear box fault and goes into fail safe mode only when it has been running for at least 50 miles and if you let it cool the next day it's fine had new gearbox 4000 miles ago seems to be temperature related but does not come up with any faults. On diagnostic test could it be temp sensor if so why would it not show on diagnostic
Any advise would be great as I don't trust it now to get me home

Welcome to the forum Simon,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I've moved your question from the end of milliofoo's Intro to a new one of your own and also copied it to XK8/XKR tech forum for advise from members with the same model. Here's the direct link to it:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-mode-132705/

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the main XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
